Why do we require a questionnaire? We require
potential buyers to fill out a questionnaire so that we can properly place an animal with each buyer.
Unfortunately, many animals are placed in shelters and euthanized each year. Doing our part to be responsible breeders, we do our best to make sure each potential buyer is well educated and a good fit for our animals. This is also the reason we ask buyers to return animals to us in the unfortunate incident that they have to rehome them.
We offer a waiting list for potential buyers to be placed on. (There is no cost to be placed on the list) Once a litter is born, everyone on the list will be contacted and receive pictures. When the litter reaches a certain age (generally a week), we will allow people to start making their selections. We will start at the top of the list (the first people who contacted us) and work our way down. (See Deposits below for further information)
If you decide that you are not ready for an animal at that point, but still want one in the near future- we will move your name down the list. If there are fewer babies than names in the list, the remaining people become the first to pick out of the next litter (still in order).
Contact us before making a deposit to ensure that your selection is still available.
Deposits are 50% of the cost of the animal. Example: a dog priced at $250 would require $125 as a deposit and the other $125 would be required at pickup.
We can only hold an animal for 24 hours if you're paying with one of the following payment options, before listing them as available again.
-PayPal. With this option, you can pay using your balance or bank account if you have it linked. We can also email you an invoice through PayPal and it gives you the option to pay with a card even if you don't have an account. Our PayPal email is hisandhershomestead@gmail.com
-Venmo. Our Venmo username is @JessiVogel
-Facebook pay. If you've been in contact with us via Messenger, you can pay with their payment option.
After making a selection, you have 5 days to make a payment when using the following option.
-Money order/cashier's check. Made out to Jessi Vogel mailed to
72683 State Highway 25A
Palisade, NE 69040
Deposits are not refundable, except in the unfortunate event that your animal gets ill or passes away while here on our property. If this were to happen, you would be given the option to either receive a refund or to transfer your deposit to another animal. Please understand that when using a shipper, we are not responsible if something happens to your animal. We suggest using a transporter with insurance. Once the animal leaves our care, we are no longer responsible for their well being. Deposits can be transferred from one animal to the next if something comes up and you're not able to purchase said animal at that time.
Once the animal has reached the age where they are ready to be picked up, the new owners have 7 days to come pick them up. After 7 days, there is an additional charge of $2/day.
They will not be able to leave until the remaining 50% is received and processed. What does this mean if you're paying with a check? This means you will need to mail your check to us at least 1-2 weeks before your new addition is ready to leave the farm, so that it can be processed.
If a buyer is requiring shipping for an animal- we are willing to work with them to make that happen. However, it is ultimately the buyer's responsibility to find a (ground) shipper. We have used and recommend Lippert Family Farm Custom Livestock Haulers. (They have transported a puppy from us to a buyer.) Their phone number is (703) 595-5405
If air shipping is required, we would ship out of Denver and would work with the buyer.
The buyer will be responsible for any additional vaccines required and a CVI (Certificate of Veterinary Inspection AKA Health Certificate) that may be required for travel.
